HB1416 establishes new requirements for accelerated instruction for students who do not pass the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®).

School Districts should evaluate the spring 2024 STAAR scores to identify students who will require supplemental accelerated instruction that complies with the new requirements of HB 4545 during the 2024-2025 school year.

Students requiring supplemental accelerated instruction will be served on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:35-5:05 pm. Transportation is available for those who attend. If a student is unable to attend at that time a morning time before school is available.

Students/ Parents are contacted if their student does not pass an EOC or 8th-grade STAAR test.
